One Night is about supporting homeless youth and their families that struggle in their daily lives because they do not have a permanent residence. Homelessness comes in all forms. It can be their family sharing apartments with other families, maybe living in someone's garage, sleeping on a friend's couch, using a car for a home or, worst of all, sleeping on the streets.
One Night is your FBO's opportunity to support homeless youth and their families to address this crisis. Your FBO has established a One Night event where you commit to raise awareness, funds and even participate in our One Night event where members spend one night outside with only a cardboard box, blanket or sleeping bag to bring the public’s attention to the problem of homelessness in southern California. Prior to the One Night event we ask members to register on the One Night site, set up a Personal Page and reach out to friends and family to support your effort to raise needed funds for homeless youth. Additionally, you can ask those you reach out to about contacting their local representatives to address the problem of youth homelessness in your town or area. Your FBO can create an awareness campaign within your FBO to gain the support of members to register and join the movement to fight homelessness.
Homelessness, especially for kids trying to attend school is a challenge and it’s time we came together and helped each other so that everyone has a chance to get the education they deserve.
